Rothwell and Desborough Urban Extension AAP - Proposed Submission
The event is not currently available for consultation.
THE ROTHWELL AND DESBOROUGH URBAN EXTENSION AREA ACTION PLAN: PROPOSED SUBMISSION
Kettering Borough Council will be consulting upon the Rothwell and Desborough Urban Extension Area Action Plan (AAP) Proposed Submission from Monday 7th December 2009 to Monday 1st February 2010.
The AAP forms part of the Local Development Framework. The purpose of the AAP is to deliver sustainable development comprising of housing, employment land, open space as well as other supporting services and facilities within both Rothwell and Desborough. The Plan provides a vision, supported by objectives and policies to guide development and create sustainable self contained communities which fit well with the existing towns and surrounding area. It will also provide services and facilities which not only support the new communities but help with the regeneration of Desborough town centre as well as supporting and enhancing the vibrant Rothwell town centre.
Following consultation on the Preferred Options (October/November 2006) and a Position Statement paper (February 2009) for the Rothwell and Desborough Urban Extension AAP, the Council has considered all responses made in formulating the Proposed Submission version of the plan. This is the final version of the AAP ahead of formal submission to the Secretary of State for independent examination. The Proposed Submission AAP was approved by full Council on 24th November 2009 and is now available for an 8 weeks statutory representation period commencing Monday 7th December.
How can you get involved?
This is the final opportunity to make your representations on the AAP prior to its submission to the Secretary of State. Representations at this stage must be made on the soundness of the plan rather than as individual detailed objections to its content. This is because all previous comments including those relating to the proposed location and scale of development have informed the writing of this version of the Plan.
Planning Policy Statement 12 states that in order to be considered ‘sound’ a Plan must be justified, effective and consistent with national policy. This is further explained within the Proposed Submission AAP and the Consultation Guidance Notes, which can be downloaded below.
The statutory period for representations on legal compliance and the soundness of the plan will run from Monday 7th December 2009 to 5.30pm on Monday 1st February 2010.
